What the fuss of blogging ?

I choose to read the Star. Everybody does. I dont think the news are any better than every other papers in town. There are too much advertisement too. But what is good about the Star perhaps the presentation of the news. The English utilised is to the Malaysian standard. I think lahhh!

One column I like to read is the Wakil Rakyat's review section. This is where the paper feature new Wakil Rakyat presented in the form of interview. There is one part where the interviewee is asked - do you blog ?

Majority of the answers; my blog is coming up ! I can say about 97% of the answer are like this !
Oh man, I think the last election or fondly known as PRU12 had Malaysian see how powerful the internet can be. Although it was reported only 12% of Malaysian use the internet and Malaysian do not like to read, the net nearly brought the present government down. That is how intensive is the effect of the internet or blogging in general.

If they say that their blog is coming, then better be so and not for the sake of "going with the trend". Making your net presence in the internet is now more easy and "free" than ever. And it is now the power to reckon with. It supersede the TV, papers and radios. Funny, as like I mentioned earlier only 12% Malaysian use the internet and Malaysian do not like to read.

Dr Mahathir has started blogging

Really ?
Well good for him. I know that he is an IT literate person al beit his age right now. And I expect many meaningful things to come out from his blog. Although he is already an ederly statesman and at times (many of late) what he said tend to ruffle things, he still has his strong foothold in the society. What he says - people still listen.

I bet that what he wants to put in his blog is something that the 'world' would want to see. Also hoping that Dr M does not resort to censorship when the readers began to post nasty comments in this comments page ( I expect that to occur). I came to know some Menteri Besars have to censor this part of the blog just because too many nasty comments are coming there. Anyway that is what blogs are for - getting other people opinions. If the particular blogger decide to do their own censorship instead, then don't blog, a simple solution.

Well, I like to wish DR M's blog the very best. I thought he had began doing one a long time ago. I also came to know that his FaceBook (certainly created by a 3rd party) grew to more than 10,000 in members before it was deleted and started all over again. It seems that too many people are putting in negative postings in the forum section of the poor FaceBook. So much for freedom in the net.

By the way, who ordered the closed down anyway ? If it was the author , then the policy is OK. If not and Facebook bowed down to the demand, hmm something is not right here.

The circus in the city

Hi,
Its been quite long since my last posting. I have been into many things, even blogging. But I was involved with other blogging services providers. Not that they are better than blogspot. I was just tweaking on what can make my blogs to be any better. Ok, so much on that one.

The Parliament had started its latest session last month 28th April. Since the opposition composition is now more, the aura was expected to be different .. and that was just it. It was different all right to the extent many who participated in it want the session TV live telecast to be aborted. Equally many wants it to go on. Not that 1/2 hour on the local government network is long enough, but that's what the voices say.

In my opinion, it must go on. It could be the most boring reality show TV Malaysia can show but maybe the most simplest. But dont forget that the current episode could be much excited than last season.

For one, the cameras are fixed in the Dewan. The director would only have to push buttons to decide which cameras should be active. Its that simple and its not like American Idol show where if the director fail the whole show would be a disappointment.

Happy May Day

Just like to wish you all Happy 1st of May.

There is a song from the Bee Gees entitled " 1st of May". When I was young and the Christmas trees were tall.. da da da.

1st of May is also the labor day in Malaysia and most other countries. In other countries the date plays a significant role as it actually rekindled or reminded the fights of labor and employer. If I am not mistaken as reported in the news, in Turkey it marked a long history (like 25 years or more) of disagreement between the labour and the government. They carr out demonstration on this auspicious day.

In Malaysia, the complaint is - why during labour day, the significant landmarks are filled with foreign workers ? The newscaster went on to say - We hope some day these spots will be filled with Malaysian faces. By the way, where art thou ?

Tallest building in the world now in Dubai

It was in the weekend local paper that the tallest building in Dubai will be completed by 2008. Looks magnificient but it is still a solo building and not a twin tower.
Sometimes, if we set aside mechanics, law of gravity and all that - why was not our proud KLCC was built as a single tower ? It could be 1 1/2 times (if 2 is impossible) than the current one and still below the buildng cost (as it is a single tower). Then it wont be too soon that another country built a taller building.
Its just my thought for what do I know on building construction :)

Asian Cup in KL

The Asian Cup has just ended hosted by Malaysia in KL. We got trashed by China 5-1 and Urbekhistan by 5-0. The last match with Iran was a 2-0. Even that I thought we were pitied and kept out of humilation.
The vice president of Malaysian football association had resigned. There is a public outcry on the resignation of other top ranking officials. On the other hand the coach is denying that he be held totally responsible for the defeats and asked his continutation of service.

Rain rain rain in the city

It is raining today just like yesterday. What I worry most when it rain like today or yesterday is that flood may occur in some parts of the city. Just a few hours of continuous rain can cause havoc, traffic jams and even damage to trapped vehicles.
Luckily the Light Transit System (LRT) is not affected.
The municipal has nearly completed constructing the SMART tunnel which purpose is to flow water out of the affected flooded areas. Alternately on dry days, it is utilised a highway tunnel. So far the tunnel as not met its purpose as flood still occurs during rainy weather.
